The Journey of a Drop · the evidence

Outside review

How an outside expert can check the records, what a review checks, and where it shows. None has happened yet.

Status · 2026-10-08 No outside review has happened yet: none of the 228 records carries one, and the register of reviewers is empty. Every record page says so in one line: “Reviewed by: not yet reviewed by an outside expert”.

What the records are checked against today

Every field on a record carries its evidence label (documented, measured, modeled, house interpretation and the rest) and, where a source states it, the source and its quoted words. The quotes are checked by program against the filed copy of each source at every build, and the claims the pages make are counted on the evidence register. Those are the house’s own checks. An outside review is a different thing: a person with the expertise, who is not the house, reads a record against its sources and says what they found.

Who can review

  • Someone with training or professional experience in the record’s subject, independent of Radler Parfums: an analytical chemist for a molecule or a composition, a botanist for a plant and where it grows, an olfaction scientist for perception, a perfumer or fragrance evaluator for an accord or a material, a historian for a perfumer, a fragrance or a date, a regulatory specialist for a rule and its jurisdiction.
  • A reviewer is named only with their agreement, with their qualification as they give it and a link to their own public statement of the review. Nobody appears here without that.
  • The house, its owner and any automated check, an AI model included, never count as an outside review; the site’s build refuses them.

What a review checks

  1. Each value against its source. Is the quote there, and does it say what the field says?
  2. The evidence label. Is what is marked documented really documented, and is everything modeled or interpretive labelled so?
  3. What is missing or should not be there. Better or missing sources; no superlative or priority claims; no health or mood claims; every rule named with its jurisdiction (an IFRA Standard is the industry’s own standard, not law in the US; an EU regulation applies in the EU).
  4. The outcome. Confirmed (the fields checked stand as filed), corrected (changes made, each listed on Corrections with its date), or comments (notes without a change).

Where a review shows

  • On the record page, in its line “Reviewed by”: the reviewer’s name and qualification, the date, what they checked and the outcome.
  • In the record’s data (/data/<kind>/<id>.json), in the field reviewedBy.
  • On this page, which lists every review and every reviewer.

What a review is not

Not a certification, not a safety assessment, and not an endorsement of the house or of any fragrance. A review covers the fields and the date it names; a record changed afterwards shows a newer version and date than its review.

To offer a review

If you have the expertise and would review a record, write through the contact form on the Atelier page, naming the record. Nothing is published about you without your agreement.
