Oakmoss absolute (oak moss extract)
Oakmoss absolute is the solvent extract of the lichen Evernia prunastri, the moss of the chypre and fougère structures.
Its natural atranol and chloroatranol are why it is restricted: EU law prohibits both substances in cosmetic products, and IFRA’s Standard limits the extract and sets a specification for the two.
